Mission Statement

The Asian American Federation's mission is to advance the civic voice and well-being of Asian Americans. We collaboratively foster philanthropy in the community, undertake research to inform policies, and provide support to community service organizations.

The Asian American Community Fund: A Vehicle towards Community Services

The Federation announces the release of its 2008 Asian American Community Fund (Community Fund) grant application. Through the Community Fund, the Federation partners with its member agencies to strengthen service programs to Asian Americans.

Asian American Federation Responds to Concept Paper on Anti-Poverty Funding

The Asian American Federation responds to a solicitation of comments from the New York City Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) on its NDA Concept Paper, a document to reveal how DYCD proposes to distribute federally funded Anti-Poverty block grants. Read more here.

The Federation Welcomes 2 New Agencies to Our Membership

The Federation Board of Directors, in its April Board meeting, voted to accept 2 agencies into our membership. We welcome Garden of Hope and the Homecrest Community Services to the Federation’s family of community service partners, making the Federation 42 members strong.

Asian Professional Extension (APEX) Appoints New Executive Director

The Federation welcomes Kristy Nguyen as the new executive director at APEX. Starting her new position in May 2008, Kristy brings with her extensive experience in non-profit management, especially in the field of educational support services. We look forward to continuing to work with APEX and Kristy in serving Asian American youth in our community.
