Asian American Communications, Inc. is the oldest and the strongest educational advocacy grass-roots organization for the Asian American community. It was founded in 1985 to respond to the needs of the ever-increasing immigrant students and children of immigrant parents. From its inception, it embodies the dual roles of direct services and advocacy work. The direct services include workshops for teachers, parents and students. Its advocacy work includes “crisis intervention” for students, parents and sometimes teachers.
