Ekta Singh joins Asian American Federation of New York Board of Directors

NEW YORK - April 12, 2006. The Asian American Federation of New York (AAFNY) welcomes Ekta Singh as a new Board of Director. Singh, a native to India and world-traveler, brings new perspective and experience to the 16 year old Federation.

Singh is Partner, Technology and Security Risk Services (TSRS) of the New York division of Ernst & Young, LLP. As the leader of the IT Governance and Effectiveness (ITGE) practice in New York, her responsibilities include advising clients on maximizing their return on investment in IT, through risk management, cost rationalization, controls and information security. She has over 13 years of experience within global IT risk, security and business advisory.

Singh is also a founding member of Ernst & Young Asian Americans for Support, Inclusion and Appreciation (EY/ASIA), the firm's first Asian people's resource network for which she now serves as a Community Service Committee advisor. She once worked as the firm's Global Information Security Officer. This position entailed traveling extensively and working in over 25 countries. She provided global IT Risk, IT Strategy and Account Management services for a number of clients across various industries.

Singh holds a Masters of Science in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley. She is certified in CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor) and CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional).

Cao K. O, Executive Director of the Federation says "The Board and Staff have known Ekta for several years. We are thrilled that she has solidified her commitment to the Federation through board membership. She is a wonderful addition to our team, and we value our continued relationship with Ernst & Young."

Singh is married with two children. Both she and her husband reside in Westchester County.
